MORE WAYS TO HELP SAVE AMERICA

I found this on the Daily Kos.

Kos has a group of House candidates that are his Kos Dozen. These are good people with good values and if they all get elected we could take back the House! At the very least, we CAN slow down this thug, Bush, destruction of our country, if he's reelected.

Contribute if you can. If you don't have the loot, but have the time and live near any of them there is a link that you can sign up to volunteer.

Give it a shot!

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Authority is supposedly, grounded in wisdom-But I could see from a very early age that authority was only a system of control, and it didn't have any inherited wisdom"-Joe Strummer

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT QUOTE OF THE DAY

"The terrorists...told us that their own children have been killed by Russians and they have nothing to lose. I asked one of them how they could put the lives of our children in danger like this. He answered that no one asked his opinion about anything when his children were being killed." -Anonymous survivor of the Russian school massacre.

Think about that quote while our guys are in Iraq. While they are doing Bush's will. Thousands of Iraqis have been killed during this war.
Not all of them are insurgents not all of them are men. It happens during war. I do not think our guys are knowingly killing civilians, but even if they did those deaths fall on the head of Bush and his band of assholes. Not on our guys. If you were in their position you would do what you have to do to stay alive.

Now replace the word "Russians" with "Americans" and you will see our problem.

What do you think is going on over there when their children are killed? Alqueda is growing in Iraq cause of this war. Growing with men and women who have lost children because of this war.

These people carry a blood hate that burns in them. A hate that can only be eased in death.

They are taking out their hate against our troops. Our troops are at a SEVERE disadvantage. Sure they have the firepower. Sure we control the air. But this war is not just being fought in the streets of Fallujah with bullets. Its also being fought with the force of will.

Who is willing to give up more to win? I know our guys are willing. I know some of our guys truly feel this war is about defending America. With that belief, they are willing to sacrifice to save our country. And I know the rest are fighting to save his brother in the foxhole and he would be willing to die for his buddy. But their enemy in Iraq WANTS to die. He wants to walk up to a check point, his body wrapped in TNT and blow the living shit out of as many of us as he can. Why? Cause his child was killed during a fire fight. Most likely by accident, but to the grieving parent "accident" is just a word that means nothing.

While our men are fighting to STAY ALIVE. The people they battle in Iraq are fighting DONT CARE if they live or die. How do you defeat an enemy who cares not for his own life? How do you defeat an enemy who has lost all hope? Who has nothing to live for.

No one ask them of their opinion when their children were killed.

Bush has made things worse.

"And I..I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear"-The Kingpin

Now replace "The Kingpin" with "Bush" and you see our problem.

May God bless our children.

YOUR TAX DOLLARS "WELL SPENT"

I got this from Mother Jones. It shows you were your money, which is being wasted in Iraq, could be used to defend us..I mean REALLY defend us. Couple that with the Center for American Progress report, on the Bush administration miserable track record on terrorism and Homeland "Security", it should give all of you pause on were this country is going. And what horrific attack we can expect cause of the repeated blunders by Bush and his band of assholes.

The MoJo story is posted in its entirety:

Nickel and Diming Homeland Security
Comparing Homeland Security spending with its Iraq equivalent.

September/October 2004 Issue

Bush administration officials used to say that the war on terrorism had to be fought "in Baghdad, not Boston." You don't hear that line much anymore, yet it's clearly reflected in the administration's spending priorities. The war in Iraq so far has cost $150 billion; for the Department of Homeland Security, the administration has allocated $27 billion this year, with the bulk of that going to the routine operations of agencies like the Customs Service. When it comes to new programs to make planes, trains, ports, and urban centers safer, there's precious little left over—which is why a range of critics, from local firefighters to Republican members of Congress, have lambasted Bush for shortchanging the nation's true homeland security needs. Below, a sample of those needs, along with Bush's budget allocations, compared with the time it takes to burn through the same amount in Iraq.

Amount needed for basic security upgrades for subway and commuter trains in large cities: $6 BILLION
(Iraq spending equivalent: 20 days)

Bush budget allocation for train security: $100 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 8 hours)

Amount needed to equip all U.S. airports with machines that screen baggage for explosives: $3 BILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 10 days)

Bush budget allocation for baggage-screening machines: $400 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 32 hours)

Amount needed for security upgrades at 361 U.S. ports: $1.1 BILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 4 days)

Bush budget allocation for port security: $210 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 17 hours)

Amount needed to buy radiation portals for U.S. ports to detect dirty bombs in cargo: $290 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 23 hours)

Bush budget allocation for radiation portals: $43 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 3 hours)

Amount needed to help local firefighters preparefor terrorist attacks: $36.8 BILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 122 days)

Bush budget allocation for firefighter grants: $500 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 40 hours)

Amount needed to get local emergency medical crews ready for terrorist atttacks: $1.4 BILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 5 days)

Bush budget allocation for emergency medical training grants prior to eliminating program altogether: $50 MILLION
(Iraq equivalent: 4 hours)

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Don't vote for Bush. No. Just don't do it. I would not be happy with you." -Sgt. Ryan Campbell in a letter to his sister.
After completing a year in Iraq, he was scheduled to come home on April 25, but his tour was involuntarily (back door draft) extended.

He was killed on April 29th. 4 days after he should have been home with his family.

He was 25 years old...

GET IN LINE

Some Democrats dont get it....

I just finished listening to the Al Franken show on Air America Radio. They were doing their "Good ribbin" segment, in which he goes down to rib joint in a state that is very pro-Bush (Ex David Duke's House o' Ribs in Biloxi, Mississippi), and he debates pro-Bush people over a plate of ribs and potato salad. Personally I just eat the ribs (Atkins)

Al was in Atlanta, GA and he was rapping with a cat who was a Democrat from Florida but he wasn't sure if he was gonna vote for Kerry. Although he DIDN'T like Bush and he DIDN'T like the Bush policy. The reason why he wasn't sure about voting for Kerry was...Kerry didn't inspire him. That my friends IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM OF DEMOCRATS.

A few weeks back a friend of mine sent me an email about Clinton. In which he said that "Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line" in other words. Whoever their guy is that's who THEY VOTE FOR. While we on the left gotta fall in love with our guy to get motivated.  Republicans don't play this "Oh he's not inspiring me" shit. THey vote for thier guy then get on his ass every single day he or she is in office. They never let up.

While we, on the left, clear out of town once the election is over. Why? Cause we're not inspired.

Is Kerry a Martin Luther King or Bobby Kennedy type speaker? No. But when I look at his record in the senate. When I look at how just about every single group that I respect from the Sierra club to the NAACP gives this guy a 90% or better rating on just about EVERY SINGLE ISSUE that means a lot to me as a liberal. I GET FUCKING INSPIRED!

People, Obama is not running for President. He wont be running for many many years. You have two choices this year:

Kerry or Bush.

Get in line. Or things WILL get WORSE and you WILL get a Supreme Court that WILL SHIT on every single issue you care about. You WILL see more young people coming home from Iraq in Body bags or maimed. YOU WILL see that. I promise you that!

We return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress....
